Job description - Senior VB.NET Developer - Dublin - Perm

realTime are seeking a Senior VB.NET Developer for a great role with a leading multinational in Dublin. You should have at least 4 years strong VB.NET experience, having come from a VB6 background.

Ideally the successful candidate will have worked with Oracle but as long as the candidate has good SQL programming experience then they will be considered.

The full spec is:

Excellent VB.Net development skills - 4+ years experience (Windows Forms, Windows Service development, ADO.Net)
Comprehensive knowledge of .Net Framework 2.0 and experience of Visual Studio 2005
Oracle 10g database development experience (PL\SQL programming)
Hands-on development experience in Visual Basic 6 (2 solid years +)
Demonstrate understanding of best practice approaches for .Net Migration projects from VB6-based solutions or other similar technologies
Strong Object Oriented Design (OOD) and OO Programming experience
Hands-on experience using/developing:
Visual Studio 2005 projects
NUnit unit tests
Visual Source Safe
Application tuning and profiling tools
Webservice Integration
Strong OO modeling, design and implementation skills utilizing UML
Good knowledge of SQL Server and Access Databases
Experience using / willingness to learn: CA-IDEAL, JCL, IQA, Toolkit, DQRY, Cobol, Cobol Cics, DB2.
